Someone has to own the numbers.
Financial models built by hand by AL Anany, by the person who answers for them when an investor pushes back. Zurich-based, 15 years, pre-seed to growth.
Your job is not to be a CFO.
The best founders I've worked with - from YC cohorts to $25M raises - had one thing in common: they focused on execution and handed the financial narrative to someone who builds it every day. The moment you stop managing spreadsheets, you start building the company.
The Pros and Cons of a Claude-created Financial Model
I tested Claude Opus 4.6 on a real financial model: and documented everything. What it gets right, where it fails, and what a human CFO still needs to catch.
What you're actually buying.
3-statement models, DCF valuations, LBO and M&A, unit economics, budgets and forecasts. All built by hand in Excel, all delivered fully unlocked.
But the model is the artifact, not the product. The product is that every number in it has a reason, a source, and someone who can defend it out loud. When an investor stops on a line, the answer isn't in the file. It's me, on the call, answering.

Three ways to start.
Hours are stated on each, so you know exactly what you're getting.
I read your model line by line and send you a findings document: what breaks, what an investor will hit first, and what needs fixing before you're in the room.
- Step one Full read-through of your existing model.
- Step two Written findings document, in your hands.
- Fixes quoted separately
- Month 1: the model Week 1. I read your model end to end. Kickoff call. I come back with what's wrong and what's missing. Week 2. Model rebuilt where it needs rebuilding. Assumptions rewritten against real market data, not guesses. Weeks 3-4. Model finished and stress-tested. Review call, revisions applied. From week 2 onward, I'm available on investor calls, introduced as your fractional CFO.
- Month 2: the deck One pitch deck built or refined against the finished model, so the numbers and the story say the same thing. Investor calls continue.
- Month 3: the room Model kept current as things change. Investor behavior research: I check whether we're approaching the right people, what they've backed recently, and what they'll push on. Preparation ahead of each meeting.
- Investor calls drawn from your monthly hours
Same three months, built out properly.
- Month 1: the model Full 3-statement model. Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, dynamically linked, scenario toggles. Not a simplified P&L. Plus valuation: full DCF and the defensible story behind the number.
- Month 2: the materials Not one deck. A master plus variants tailored to different investor types, each built against the model.
- Month 3: the room Investor behavior research ahead of every meeting. Board and reporting materials as the round progresses. Model kept current as things move.
- Investor calls drawn from your monthly hours
We built the investor pitch deck for Christopher's Bakery — 1,000+ orders in, and featured by NBC 5 as the best bakery in DFW — ahead of its first fundraise. Here's Courtenay on the result, in his own words.

Built by AL Anany.
15 years as a finance and strategy consultant. Based in Zurich, Switzerland. I've built financial models, pitch decks, and investor materials for founders raising pre-seed through growth rounds, and for corporates and funds, from YC cohorts to a $168B AUM fund. Every model is built by hand, and every delivery comes with a demo video walking you through the drivers.
Common questions.
Do you use AI to build the models?
No. Every model I deliver is built by hand, formula by formula, and I can explain every cell in it.
But if you built yours with AI, that's fine, and increasingly common. AI is good at this now. The problem isn't the model, it's that nobody in the room can defend it when an investor points at a line. That's the part I do.
Is the Excel fully unlocked?
Yes. Every model ships as a fully unlocked .xlsx, every formula visible, no protected sheets, no black boxes. It's your file, and the demo video shows you exactly how it works.
Can you fix or extend my existing model?
Yes. If your model has outgrown itself, broke somewhere along the way, or needs to survive due diligence, I can audit, fix, or rebuild it. Mention it in the form and tell me what it's struggling with.
What do you need from me?
Just show up to the call. You tell me about your company, your numbers, and what the model is for, I take it from there. This is a one-on-one service: you work directly with me, not a team.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes. Always. Client materials, company information, and models are never shared. Feel free to share your NDA with us.
How long does it take?
The Model Audit comes back within a week. The retainers run on a 3-month minimum, and the month-by-month breakdown above shows exactly what lands when.
How much does a fractional CFO cost?
Three options: a $500 one-off model audit, or a retainer at $1,500 or $2,500 a month with a 3-month minimum. Hours are stated on each. No hourly surprises, you know the number before we start.
Do I need a financial model, or is a projections template enough?
A template gives you a grid of numbers. A model connects them - change one assumption and the whole thing updates and still ties out. For a real raise or due diligence, investors read the logic, not just the totals. That's the difference between a spreadsheet and a model.
