In this AI age, pitch decks, sales decks, marketing decks, all sorts of decks have one thing in common. They must transform into a creative deck.
ChatGPT and similar AI agents have left us with nothing. If you used to know how to write creatively, if you used to know how to design, if you used to know how to think, honestly, all those things are now being challenged. They’re being challenged by AI.
Fingers crossed are not actually drawing. That’s a market that is not only affected by AI, but is really threatened at this stage.
Why Creative Decks Matter Now
So, yes, a creative deck is what’s needed. Why? Because at this exact moment, the only thing that sets you apart from GPT is an element of creativity, even if others online tell you that this is not true.
Creativity as a concept is not about thinking of an idea. A friend was joining me in a holiday. We went to a beautiful place, a place near the mountains, and he started thinking, “I want to start a new business here. Maybe I should ask what business should I start? Maybe I should ask GPT.”
And when they started to ask GPT, and I assessed those answers as a business consultant myself, I noticed that most of those answers are quite dull. Not because they’re not realistic. They are realistic, but the concept of creativity is thinking outside the box, and GPT in this sense, or all sorts of AI agents, are designed in the box. Even if they try to think outside of the box, that’s another box we created for them.
So creativity in this sense is something that is not easily replicable.
Building Your Creative Deck
For that exact reason, a creative deck is what you should be looking at when pitching, whether it’s sales, investment, or marketing. As creative as it gets.
If you start your creative deck with a one-liner that says, “This is not a deck about what you think it is,” or with a picture, or with a GIF, or with something that is unexpected, something that those AI agents wouldn’t think of doing, then you have your one step ahead.
Replicate this ideology with everything you do when it comes to pitching.
Creative Deck Methodology
So, yes, this sort of methodology is what we really advise our clients in the investment preparation industry. When they approach us looking for a pitch deck or an investment deck of some sort, we immediately start telling them that it’s not going to be enough to follow the standard procedures.
We actually have to storyboard a presentation from scratch. And what is this stage of storyboarding you might ask? This stage of storyboarding is thinking in a way that a reader would not anticipate, creating what we refer to as a creative deck.
Start designing it as such, start thinking of it as such. Storyboard it as such. Think of it by looking into nature, think of it by talking to a friend, do not follow the exact teachings of GPT.
The Human Touch in a Creative Deck
There is nothing wrong with AI agents like GPT, but when it comes to pitching to other human beings, always remember that GPT already pitched them. They’ve already seen that GPT pitch of yours.
So in order to actually stand out, the most rewarding presentations are ones that are actually not written with such tools, that are actually thought of when looking at a plain white wall.
And this is the age we’re in right now. It’s the age of a creative deck.
